Good Sports: The Sporting Group

Written by Administrator

The first 2 categories of dog divisions were the Sporting and Non-Sporting groups. Today, there are many more, yet the Sporting Group still remains. The Sporting Group contains the dogs who accompany their hunter-owners into the field. They are made to find birds and other game. They then point to the position of the bird or small animal, freezing in place. Alternative, a sporting dog will flush the creature out from the brush. The owner fires a shot, shoots an arrow or uses some means to wound or kill the prey. The Sporting dog then retrieves the creature from wherever it has fallen - water, land or swamp.

The Coat Coloring of a Labrador Retriever

Written by Terrificpets.com
The Labrador retriever comes in three different colors: yellow, chocolate and black. Any other color is not acceptable according to the AKC standards for the Labrador retriever. Occasionally, you may see some slight variations of the three colors such as brindle, black and tan or gold, but these colors are unacceptable as true Lab colors. A yellow Lab, however, may have some different shades of yellow which range from tan to gold to reddish fox. The majority of them are just yellow, however. Some breeders may even advertise a "rare" Lab color. It's rare because it shouldn't be part of the Labrador. You may occasionally see white markings on the chest, but these are the only variations allowed according to the AKC Labrador Retriever Standard.
American Pit Bull Terriers are subject to breed-specific legislation, ownership restrictions, insurance restrictions and outright bans in at least 7 countries of the world. These bans have stemmed from a number of attacks by pit bull-type dogs, many of which have resulted in fatalities. But many owners and lovers of the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) argue that bans on APBT's are unfair and that the breed makes an excellent companion animal and family pet. The controversy surrounding American Pit Bull Terriers has created two drastically divided camps.
